OOIDA files class-action suit against PA Turnpike over toll hikes

OOIDA says the PTC’s toll hikes “place an undue burden on interstate commerce while improperly diverting toll revenue to other projects unrelated to the turnpike.” Association CEO and acting president Todd Spencer says truckers have overpaid by as much as 70 cents-per-mile.

Truckers sound off in favor of OOIDA’s ELD exemption request

The exemption, if granted, would apply to small businesses (those with up to $27.5 million a year in revenue) who have no at-fault crashes on their record and who have a “Satisfactory” or “Conditional” safety rating. The comment period closes Thursday, Feb. 1, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time.

Comment period opens for OOIDA’s request to exempt small business truckers from ELD mandate

OOIDA has asked the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to exempt small businesses (defined by the Small Business Administration as those with up to $27.5 million a year in revenue) who have no at-fault crashes on their record and who have a “Satisfactory” or “Conditional” from the ELD mandate.

OOIDA’s course includes a one-hour training module and a test, which awards a certificate of completion, a card to keep in the truck cab and templates of written procedures and checklists for van trailers, reefers, flatbeds, liquid bulk tankers and hoppers.
