Wisconsin is the latest state to implement training on the recognition and prevention of human trafficking for commercial truck drivers. A new PFJ location in Midland, Texas, adds 23 new truck parking spots to the Permian Basin. An updated project timeline has Indiana’s new overdimensional permitting system finished in Spring 2020.

Navistar has been granted a waiver to allow its advanced driver-assistance systems to be mounted lower on the windshield than current regs allow. AMBEST nearly doubled its annual donation to the St. Christopher fund to more than $30K. Nikola’s hydrogen-electric truck made a delivery for Anheuser-Busch.

Idaho governor warns hemp haulers to stick to interstates under new hemp transportation law
Idaho Gov. Brad Little issued an executive order to resolve any conflicts between state and federal law when it comes to transporting hemp through the state. Hemp haulers can only transport the crop on or near interstates and must stop at the first port of entry for an inspection of the hemp load.

The agency granted exemptions to two waste and recycling companies allowing their short-haul drivers to operate for 14 hours instead of 12. FMCSA denied applications from three companies that asked for their drivers to drive beyond the current limits of the HOS regs.
