The waiver of the fees will continue until the end of the agency’s regional emergency declaration, which will expire at the end of the emergency or Sept. 28, whichever is sooner, unless the declaration is extended.

Two truckers were killed and another was injured in a shooting spree by Seth Aaron Ator, 36, who was reportedly fired from his oil field service trucking job hours before the shooting in Odessa and Midland, Texas. Ator was killed by police after the two-hour shooting spree.

Second FMCSA listening session on hours of service set for D.C.
The second of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s listening sessions on the proposed hours of service changes will be held Tuesday, Sept. 17, at U.S. DOT headquarters in Washington, D.C. The listening session will be held from 1-3 p.m. and is open to the public.

More than 12,000 trucks sidelined with OOS violations during June’s 72-hour Roadcheck blitz
CVSA says 12,019 trucks and 2,784 drivers were placed out of service, accounting for a 17.9% vehicle OOS rate and a 4.2% driver OOS rate during the blitz. In total, inspectors across the U.S. and Canada conducted 67,072 inspections from June 4-6.
